Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report
Description:
Violence against women has significant implications for the spread of HIV/AIDS among women and is a growing, yet silent crisis in the United States.
Most domestic violence (DV) providers are unaware of the silent relationship between DV and HIV/AIDS. DV providers often lack the skills or training to initiate conversations about sexual health. DV agencies can serve as a promising pathway to provide prevention education, local testing information and build partnerships to reduce HIV/AIDS among women in the community.
