This symposium examines the challenges of identifying and responding to domestic violence in pediatric health settings, and will feature efforts to improve the capacities of pediatric providers to identify families affected by domestic violence. Presenters include a pediatrician, social worker and psychologist. They will give an overview of research on the efficacy and challenges of screening in pediatric settings. They will report on two specific screening/educational initiatives (in the Pediatric Emergency Department setting and in primary care) for pediatric providers.
