Description:
Rural and frontier communities face unique barriers when providing health services, specifically regarding availability, accessibility and quality of services. This poses particular concern for survivors of domestic and sexual violence whom studies suggest utilize health services more often than their non-abused counterparts. This qualitative study, the first of its kind in the region, measured policy and practice with respect to domestic violence assessment and intervention in the rural western united states. Results will inform statewide efforts to improve DV intervention.
