Saturday, October 10, 2009: 9:50 AM-11:10 AM
Gallier A/B (Sheraton New Orleans Hotel)
Speakers:
Evelyn P. Tomaszewski, MSW, ACSW, National Association of Social Workers
Susan Gallego, MSSW, LCSW, National Association of Social Workers

Description:
Social workers and allied providers have a key role in ensuring all clients receive a comprehensive assessment of health and mental health status. Working across settings (e.g., shelters, health centers, private practice, and community based organizations) providers can provide comprehensive assessments for mental health, HIV/AIDS, trauma and abuse, and substance use. This workshop will provide an overview of prevention and intervention tools that will increase provider skills and, in turn, help clients access to the broadest range of services available.
