Presentation Format:
Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report
Description:
Our team of academic researchers, domestic violence advocates, survivors, and community leaders used principles of community-based partipatory research (CBPR) to collaboratively develop culturally-specific depression care programs for African-American and Latina domestic violence survivors. We will discuss how the use of CBPR significantly impacted every stage of the project, decribe how the group culturally tailored intervention and evaluation materials, and describe the resulting culturally-specific, creative-arts-based, advocate-led depression care programs and public awareness campaign.
