Innovative/Promising Practice Program Report

Description:
This presentation will discuss Caminar Latino (CL), an innovative and comprehensive family violence intervention program for Latino families in Atlanta. CL utilizes a unique community-based approach that incorporates third world feminism, the teachings of Brazilian educator Paulo Friere, and, most importantly, the voices of our participants. Preliminary findings from CL’s program evaluation will be used to demonstrate the success of this unique approach, illustrating improvements in the mental and physical health of the women participants.
