Description:
In 2005, 16 states and 2 territories included a 7-question optional IPV module in the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS). A total of 70,156 respondents (42,566 women and 27,590 men) were administered the module.Women and men who reported IPV victimization during their lifetime were more likely to report a range of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, arthritis, asthma, and activity limitations.
