EVERY SHAWL TELLS A STORY of violence against a Native American Woman or child. The Shawl Stories project began in October 2006 at the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians Health Fair, as a way to honor Native Women and Children who are victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and racism.
