Description:
This study took place in ten YWCA Canadian shelters for abused women, surveying 368 women on entry and exit. The Entry survey collected information on health and mental health information, what they hoped to gain from shelter residence and the Danger Assessment (Campbell, 2001). Post-tests on the trauma scale showed significant reduction of trauma symptoms. Policy and practice implications will be presented.
