Description:
Motivational Enhancement (ME) and Self Determination theory (SDT) methods could potentially benefit abused Arab women in Israel in safety planning for themselves and their children. We assessed ME with regard to feasibility and acceptability of this intervention to Arab care providers from Israel in addressing domestic violence (DV) situations. Care providers’ training feedback was positive regarding an ME approach to DV, cultural adaptation, and translation. ME and SDT appear to be potentially useful in addressing DV in this population.
