Description:
Albuquerque Indian Health Clinic contracted Beverly Wilkins to provide domestic violence advocacy services two half-days per week. She is one the first domestic violence advocates stationed in an Indian Health Service facility. This presentation will review the evolution of the position, obstacles in its initiation and continuation, basic statistics and demographics on women seen, brief description of co-existing identified medical and psychological diagnoses, sources of referrals, and outreach to other clinics/sites.
