Description:
We performed a qualitative study using interviews and focus groups with women who had experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) to explore the relationship of their eating behaviors and self-perceived body image to their experience of abuse. We discuss the attacks on body image and eating behaviors as part of the perpetrated acts of abuse against victims of IPV and the use of food by victims to cope with the violence.
